The Mass Save® program is a statewide energy efficiency initiative, sponsored by Massachusetts’ gas and electric utilities and energy efficiency service providers, that helps residents make energy-efficient home upgrades through Home Energy Assessments, rebates, incentives, and 0% financing. For homeowners and renters, the recommended starting point is a Mass Save® No-Cost Home Energy Assessment conducted by Revise, Inc., a Mass Save® Participating Home Performance Contractor. Mass Save is a collaborative of Massachusetts’ electric and natural gas utilities and energy efficiency service providers including Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, Eversource, Liberty, National Grid, and Unitil. The program empowers residents, businesses, and communities to make energy efficient upgrades by offering a wide range of services, rebates, incentives, trainings, and information.

As a Mass Save Participating Home Performance Contractor, we are eligible to provide customers with Home Energy Assessments, insulation, air sealing, duct insulation, duct sealing and thermostat installation services.

A no-cost Home Energy Assessment includes:

•  A customized home energy report
•  Access to applicable rebates and incentives, including:
•  No-cost air sealing of air leaks
•  0% financing on qualifying improvements
•  Generous rebates on high-efficiency heating, cooling, and water heating equipment

These programs and services are managed and delivered by electric and gas program Sponsors (working closely with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources), providing the energy expertise to help you save energy and money. The funding is supported from a charge on customers’ energy expenses.

Through the joint efforts of the Mass Save collaborative, Massachusetts is one of the most energy efficient states in the country, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The Mass Save Sponsors continue to make strides in energy efficiency and building a clean energy future for everyone in the state.

Who Can Participate in the Mass Save® Program?

Massachusetts homeowners, renters, and landlords of 1–4 unit buildings whose gas or electric service comes from a Mass Save® Sponsor can participate, starting with a Mass Save® No-Cost Home Energy Assessment. Final eligibility is confirmed when you schedule.

• You live in Massachusetts.
• You own or rent a single-family home, or an apartment or condo in a building with 1–4 units. Landlords of 1–4 unit rental properties can also participate.
• Your gas or electric service is provided by a Mass Save® Sponsor: Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, Eversource, Liberty, National Grid, or Unitil.
• Municipal utilities are not part of the Mass Save® program. However, if your electric service comes from a municipal utility and your home is heated with natural gas from a Mass Save® Sponsor, you can still use HEAT Loan financing.
• You do not need to meet an income threshold to get a Home Energy Assessment. Households that meet income guidelines may qualify for enhanced incentives.
• Different Mass Save® options are available for buildings with five or more units.

How the Mass Save® Program Works, Step by Step

For most households, participating in the Mass Save® program follows a clear sequence:

• a Home Energy Assessment
• a custom report with recommendations
• completed upgrades
• rebates or financing for qualifying work

1. Schedule your Mass Save® No-Cost Home Energy Assessment. Assessments are available in person or virtually. Scheduling asks for your address, your gas and electric utility providers, and your heating type, and your eligibility is confirmed at this stage.
2. Meet with a home energy efficiency specialist. Your specialist from Revise, Inc. evaluates how your home uses energy, identifies opportunities to improve it, and helps you understand which rebates and incentives may apply.
3. Review your custom home energy report. The report lists personalized upgrade recommendations and shows what you may be eligible for.
4. Complete recommended insulation and air sealing. As a participating Home Performance Contractor, Revise, Inc. can complete recommended insulation and air sealing work during a follow-up visit.
5. Finance and file for qualifying upgrades. Eligible homeowners can apply for 0% HEAT Loan financing before starting qualifying work. Once a qualifying project is complete, you can apply for any available Mass Save® rebates.
6. Program quality assurance. After work is completed, the Mass Save® program may inspect Home Energy Assessments, weatherization work, HEAT Loans, and rebated heating systems for quality assurance.

Mass Save® Program Pathways: Where Your Next Step Can Lead

Your Home Energy Assessment connects you to generous rebates and financial incentives from Mass Save® for weatherization, equipment, and financing. Home Energy Assessments

The Mass Save® No-Cost Home Energy Assessment conducted by Revise, Inc. is the starting point for most residential offers. It produces the custom report that identifies which upgrades and incentives fit your home.

Insulation Upgrades

Eligible homes can receive up to 100% off insulation upgrades, depending on eligibility. Revise, Inc. can complete recommended insulation work as a participating Home Performance Contractor.

Air Sealing

Eligible homes can receive no-cost targeted air sealing to reduce drafts. Air sealing is recommended based on what your assessment finds.

0% HEAT Loan Financing

Through the Mass Save® HEAT Loan Program, eligible homeowners may receive 0% financing of up to $25,000 for qualifying energy-efficiency upgrades.

• The $25,000 maximum applies across the lifetime of a customer’s upgrades.
• The loan applicant must be the homeowner.
• Financing depends on approval from a participating lender.

Heating, Cooling, and Water Heating Rebates

Generous rebates are available on qualifying high-efficiency heating, cooling, and water heating equipment. Your custom report can help you see which equipment upgrades may be worth considering.

Duct Sealing, Duct Insulation, and Thermostat Installation

When these services are recommended and eligible under the program, Revise, Inc. can also provide duct sealing, duct insulation, and thermostat installation.

Income-Based Offers

Households that meet income guidelines may qualify for enhanced incentives. These can include up to 100% off insulation upgrades and no-cost air sealing.
