This month we’re doing something a little different with our monthly blog post. We invited Olympic Gold Medalist and Revise spokeswoman, Nancy Kerrigan, to take over and share her story about working with Revise.
Hello, everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read my post. It’s pretty much the dead of winter here in Massachusetts, and I find myself thinking about how grateful I am that my house is warm and cozy. But it wasn’t always that way.
Back in 2018, I was taking part in some sports marketing campaigns for the PyeongChang Olympics. Revise was also working with media agencies surrounding the winter Olympics. I connected with Revise during those meetings and immediately realized, I needed them at my house NOW.
I realized that my home, while beautiful, was cold and drafty. Not only in the living area, but I had this bathroom that was ALWAYS cold. So, I talked with my new friends at Revise and scheduled my no-cost home energy assessment. Revise was at my house in less than a week. The Advisor allowed me to shadow him during the assessment, educating me on various places throughout my home that Revise could save me energy. We looked in crawl spaces, evaluated my basement, inspected inside my walls and took a close look at my windows. It was an incredibly thorough look at my house—but surprisingly fast. The entire process was maybe three full hours. At the end my Advisor from Revise told me that I needed a new furnace and insulation. Right there at my kitchen table, he scheduled an appointment to do the work.
We discussed the types of furnace options available, and they explained the type of rebates, based on installing a new high efficiency piece of equipment. In the end, I paired a generous rebate with a 0% financing plan from Mass Save. On top of all that work, they came and performed all of the insulation work in my home. The insulation crew did a great job, and I felt the difference instantly. That cold bathroom floor was no longer cold. I felt the difference immediately walking around my home and I felt the savings immediately in our monthly utility bills. Revise, a partner in the Mass Save program, was able to cover 75% of the insulation cost. Through having a Mass Save Home Energy Assessment first, my family saved money and we are now saving energy, all in a better-insulated, comfortable home.
I could not be happier with the comfort of my home now. It’s the reason I decided to become the spokeswoman for Revise. I wanted to shout to the rooftops how much I saved and help others do the same.
